A few words about Cyprus!
Cyprus is an island in the Eastern Mediterranean and the third largest in Mediterranean.
According to mythoogy Aphrodite (the goddess of beauty, love, pleasure and procreation) was born there. This is the main reason why this wonderful island is called "Island of love". Another reason is because the scenery, the seas, the lakes, the food, and the inhabitants of the country make you fall in love with this island.

It is also important to know, that Cyprus is divided into two parts, the Cypriot and the Turkish-occupied (which emerged in 1974). The so-called "green line" (that was established in 1964 and extended in 1974 after the cease fire on the 16th of August in 1974 , following the Turkish invasion in Cyprus) sepriates both parts. It extends over 300 km and separates the southern part from the northern part of the island. The "Green Line" is under the supervision of the men of the United Nations (The UN), who are responsible for maintaining the normalness of the area, which is also called the "Dead Zone" and the "Cessation Line". Since 1964, Nicosia has been divided into two parts by the "Green Line", making it the only divided capital in Europe today.
